AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Disclosed
According to the authorized announcement, "An unusual encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where rumors of banned practices and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The plot presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden group.
The questline focuses on "strange tests and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Metamorphoses
The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a striking moment showing a character, probably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Content
Players who accomplish the quest will receive an special katana together with several objects concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's latest free story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This represents hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with popular anime properties. The series earlier included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
